The fastest way to get started is by using “Sample Templates”. From ribbon, click button “Create Sample Templates”.  This will create the sample templates for:

  1. Activity Calendar:
    Resource: User
    Events: Task, Phone Call, Email, Service Activity, Holidays, Availability
    Mapping Field between Resource (Users) and Events (Activities) is: Activity Owner
    Mapping Field between Resource (Users) and Events (Availability) is: Regarding (populated by User)
    Mapping Field between Resource (Users) and Holidays is: None
    Calendar View: Calendar
    Timescale View: Month
  2. Conference Room Calendar:
    Resource: Conference Rooms
    Events: Room Bookings, Availability, Holidays
    Mapping Field between Resource (Conference Rooms) and Event (Bookings) is: Regarding (populated by Conference Room)
    Mapping Field between Resource (Conference Rooms) and Event (Availability) is: Regarding (populated by Conference Room)
    Mapping Field between Resource (Conference Rooms) and Event (Holidays) is: None
  3. Service Activities Calendar:
    Resource: User
    Events: Service Activity, Appointment, Task, Holidays, Availability
    Mapping Field between Resource (Users) and Events (Activities) is: Activity Owner
    Mapping Field between Resource (Users) and Events (Availability) is: Regarding (populated by User)
    Mapping Field between Resource (Users) and Holidays is: None
    Calendar View: Timeline
    Timescale View: Week

There are few additional steps to be done once these sample templates have been installed:

  1. Open calendar template record.
  2. In Tab “General Settings”: Select Default Event Table (for new items): When trying to create a new event in calendar… the selected table form will open up by default.
  3. In Tab “Calendar Default Settings”: browse to section “Select Teams”. Here select the teams. You can then select one of the team and click button “Set Default”.
    Now when calendar loads… it will automatically select the default team and its members.
